This must be the Era of Weddings!!! I have got a wedding dinner on the 7Oct, a church wedding ceremony to “jie-mei” at on 18Nov, and Miss V has booked my 07Sep’07 for hers… And my dear Samsoonie twin… whom is now called Empress Law… is attending a wedding this weekend. Not forgetting my sis who just updated me that she’s got 2 weddings to attend soon too!
Before I type on, let me congratulate all my beloved friends first!

Gosh, everyone is getting married, isn’t it? All those wedding bells, they are clinking real furiously beside my ears now. It got me into deep thinking… And as if not enough, I did some research too. Am I stressed… NOT.
A thread in a popular forum says, to hold an average wedding comfortably, it takes at least 50k. 50K! That’s absurd, isn’t it? When a simple ROM costs you like only $26, how the hell can it roll on to a huge $50,000… Yes, that’s four zeros behind that 5! Ok, u may blink now.
Costs include the $26 for ROM, down-payment for a flat, renovations, furniture, wedding dinner, bridal photography package, honeymoon, a lot of dresses, and blah blah blah… Well, even the “Ang-Bao-pockets” costs money.
I was telling Mom that I won’t be getting married if it means all these money. I’ll rather cohabit… That set Mom off in another string of “blah blah… Chinese cultural traditions and integrity… blah lah blah…” (Kaoz..). But she too agreed that that’s a lot of money.
Come on, who wants to get married with a scorched big hole in their pants! And I read that some people actually take up huge loans to fulfill their once in a lifetime extravagant “fairytale”. Its silly! *Roll Eyes* It isn’t a good start to any “happily-ever-after”, because you know how hard you’d have to slog “ever-after” to pay up.
And what is the difference between a Honeymoon trip to Taiwan and a Honeymoon to all over Europe? You think the air you breathe in will be different?! I’d tell you apart from wiping his wallet squeaking-clean; breathing in dry regions like Europe makes you feel like your nose is about to drop off, gives you a really bad hair day and finally causes really bad rashes on your skin!
Besides, it is just not fair to burden Mr Bridegroom with splurges like these! Not fair, not fair! Well, unless he himself demanded for one very extravagant wedding + honeymoon in the first place. Which, by high chance, is very unlikely.
I never want to get married this way. And in case u are thinking, NO NO NO, we have absolutely no intentions to get married in a long time yet. But… Nevertheless, I think I shall still tell Baby that it takes 50K to get married. Haha! *EviL EviL* Well, its never too early to start planning and saving mah… And yes, even if I don’t end up his bride, its still important to plan and save!
But quite frankly, he is the one guy that I usually do not need to stress about planning anything at all. Now does that explain why he’s the naggy one between us? How fortunate.
